Our Mission
A Bag of Smiles, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to reach out to underprivileged and traumatized children, both in our local community and abroad. Our mission is to collect various items which will be used to assemble gift bags. One of our organization’s major distribution events will take place during the Christmas season each year. In addition to distributing gift bags to children during the holidays, we will also assemble and distribute back-to-school supplies, birthday gifts and emergency gift bags. Through our programs and the support we are able to offer, we hope to bring a smile to the hearts of our recipients and share with them the love of Jesus Christ.
Our History in Haiti
During a mission trip to Haiti in 2007, A Bag of Smiles Inc founder Rose Etienne-Gibson first visited the children of Haiti in 2007. After consulting the Lord through prayer, she dedicated herself to helping the children through A Bag of Smiles Inc.
We now have 11 years of experience and speaks English, Creole, and French to serve the children of Haiti better. Call now to ask about our December luncheon to find out everything we have accomplished this year.
Special Events That We Hold
We usually host a Luncheon in December, where we discuss our accomplishments in the year. Back to school drives are held in July and August for school supplies, and these supplies are given to churches, shelters, and children in need. Our other charity project, Christmas in Haiti, occurs annually in December / January. We also conduct Family Day at shelters in August / September. Our summer camp takes place in Haiti every summer.
